Developer access

Company API plans and public preview.

The application hosts a public preview of curated biotech company dossiers. This page only explains it. Requests run on app.biotechtracker.dev. No account or API key is required for the v1 preview. It has no freshness or service guarantee. Separate v2 plans are described below.

Company API plans · v2

Free launch: public v1 access is available. V2 API access, key creation and Developer purchases are disabled. The plans below describe the test implementation; they are not available for signup.

Both tiers use GET /api/v2/companies and return the same stored company profiles and catalyst summaries. One delivered company costs one credit per export, across its pages.

Free · $0 USD / month
250 company credits per UTC calendar month. 10 requests per minute, burst 2, one concurrent request.
Developer · $19 USD / month
10,000 company credits per billing period. 60 requests per minute, burst 5, two concurrent requests.

Keys on one account share its allowances. There are no automatic overages. Errors, estimates, page retries and unchanged conditional responses use no company credits but count toward request limits.

Test preview, not a live paid service. API access, key issuance and checkout require operator activation. The Stripe adapter accepts test mode only; live purchases are unavailable. Read the v2 access and response guide.

Stored catalyst summaries

Both v1 and v2 expose companies[].catalysts[].summary, summaryBy and summaryAt. admin means an editor-written note; research is a stored research-pipeline note, including earlier AI explanations; template is a deterministic field-based fallback. A suitable stored note takes priority (up to 400 characters, without a URL). If a note and fallback are unavailable, values are null. The timestamp is the stored note’s write time when known, and null for templates or seed notes without a reliable write time. It is not a source-verification time.

Reads never call AI or trigger research. There is no separate company AI overview. V2 may include selected profileFacts, which are stored facts rather than generated prose. For a clearly fictional FDA decision example and the exact contract, see the catalyst summary guide.

Feeds and downloads

Atom and ICS use no company credits. Atom stays public; ICS downloads require a free signed-in account and omit catalyst summaries. Summaries remain on the website and company API and are not paid-exclusive.

Public v1 preview request

GET /api/v1/companies takes companies: a ticker, an exact company name, a comma-separated list, or all. Add category for one stored tag, such as oncology. A single company and a full list share one JSON document. The answer is always a page.

Examples

One ticker:

curl -sS 'https://app.biotechtracker.dev/api/v1/companies?companies=VRTX'

https://app.biotechtracker.dev/api/v1/companies?companies=VRTX

Every company in one category, still paged. A comma list such as companies=VRTX,MRNA is the same call.

curl -sS 'https://app.biotechtracker.dev/api/v1/companies?companies=all&category=oncology&limit=20'

https://app.biotechtracker.dev/api/v1/companies?companies=all&category=oncology&limit=20

What comes back

Curated company basics and catalysts, including dates, date precision, drug and indication fields, and links to underlying sources when a record has them. The hosted application serves a reviewed snapshot from the reviewed seed. Scheduled research is not running there, so treat the preview as a snapshot. A missing value is null. The response does not invent a source-processing time.

Left out

Stock prices, other market data, index weights, congressional trade records, news headlines, and press-release or article bodies are omitted. ClinicalTrials.gov study text and FDA advisory-meeting titles are not copied into the company document. A source link is not a copy of that page.

Pagination, errors, coverage, and freshness limits are in the application docs. The machine-readable description is the OpenAPI document.
